ABOUT US

"The Church of Christ speaks only where the Bible speaks,
and is silent where the Bible is silent."

We are nondenominational and have no central headquarters or president. The head of the church is none other than Jesus Christ himself (Ephesians 1:22-23). Each congregation of the churches of Christ is autonomous, and it is the Word of God that unites us into One Faith (Ephesians 4:3-6). We follow the teachings of Jesus Christ and his holy Apostles, and not the teachings of man.

We hold the divine inspiration of the Bible, the Old and New Testament. We accept the Old Testament as “true and essential to a proper understanding of the New. It contains many invaluable lessons in righteousness and holiness;” but “as a book of authority to teach us what we are to believe, the New Testament alone is our standard.” We also hold to, and accept the Bible, being an all sufficient revelation of the Divine will of God to be the perfect rule of faith and practice.

We accept the teaching on the Deity and Christhood of Jesus, being the Word (The Logos) of God and who in the beginning, was co-existent and co-equal with God, is God himself (1 John 5:20). Without any reservation, we accept and witness to the world, that Jesus Christ is God, Incarnate in the flesh who came to be the Lord of mankind and Saviour of all sinners (John 1:1,14). He is the head of the church.

We believe that FAITH, REPENTANCE, and BAPTISM are key steps to salvation. The New Testament teaches FAITH in JESUS CHRIST and this should be confessed by the believer in the presence of men. A believer must undergo a change of heart and attitude, a repentant of his sins and previous unbelief or faithlessness. The act of repentance should be voluntary by the penitent and repentant sinner which ought to be done in the name of Jesus Christ alone, who has the only power to grant forgiveness of repented and confessed sins. Washing of sins occurs in the act of water immersion in the name of the FATHER, SON, and the HOLY SPIRIT, which is in the New Testament called baptism (Romans 6:4) We strongly believe this and practice. Therefore, FAITH and BAPTISM are pre-requisite to salvation (Mark 16:15-16, Acts 2:37-38, 41) and not by FAITH alone, for faith without works is dead (James 2:17). We stand by the teachings of the New Testament on this. (Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38) We do not practice infant baptism. As baptism is for those who believe in their heart and confesses with their own mouth that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God.

We profess to be called CHRISTIANS. Not because we are the only Christians in the world but
that we do not want to be called other name except Christians. Christians are disciples, not as a denominational or sectarian name, but as to indicate that they are learners of Jesus.

We conform to the New Testament teaching that the table of the Lord is indispensable in every worship. Every Lord’s day, is for fellowship and prayers, and for breaking of bread and studying the Word of God (Acts 2:42; 20:7). To this, we submit into practice as we exercise the utmost respect, decency and order in the breaking of bread for the body of the Lord, and the cup for His blood.

We practice giving tithes and offerings to the Lord, not out of necessity, or out of compulsion,
but out of their abundance of their love for God and their concern for His Kingdom. (2 Corinthians 8:5)
